Bora sambar com axé!

Samba…

is one of Brazil’s most vibrant cultural expressions. It began in Afro-Brazilian communities and has grown into a worldwide symbol of rhythm, energy, and celebration. Samba is known for its fast footwork, grounded movement, and joyful spirit. It connects music, culture, and dance with the traditions of Brazil’s African ancestry.

Our samba classes teach the traditional style known as samba no pé. This is the technique seen in Rio de Janeiro’s carnival parades and samba schools. Students learn timing, posture, musicality, and the signature steps that define this dance. Classes also introduce the Afro-based movements from Bahia that helped shape modern samba.

Classes are led by instructor Saara Burga, a master dancer hailing from Manaus, Brazil with a lifetime of experience in various Brazilian dance styles.
