Brazilian percussion at the Brazilian Center for Cultural Exchange of Sacramento is led by Victor Hugo, a Peruvian-born percussionist with extensive experience in drumming traditions across South America. Victor leads the drum ensemble for G.R.E.S. Unidos da Capital, guiding students through the rhythms that power samba and other Brazilian musical styles.

Classes focus on developing timing, technique, discipline, and ensemble awareness using traditional Brazilian instruments. Victor also provides youth percussion instruction, introducing younger students to foundational rhythm, teamwork, and cultural appreciation through drumming.

These classes offer an accessible entry point for beginners and a structured environment for more advanced students who want to deepen their understanding of Brazilian percussion or participate in performances with Unidos da Capital.
